Forum: GratefulDead Subject: Hornsby's website

I just logged on to Bruce's website, and the first thing I saw I felt was kind of tacky. There's a solicitation for funds to help defray the costs of the website! I've never seen anything like it. I find it very odd that the pizza shop down on the corner of my neighborhood has a nice website, and doesnt ask anyone for money, while a millionaire pop and rock star is asking for funds for his site. It's likely that the vast majority of people who go to his site are fans, looking to either find out when they can spend 50 bucks on a ticket to one of his shows, or even buy some merchandise. Why in the hell would you ask for money from consumers to pay for your advertising?? I dont know why this is bothering me, but it is. Anyone care to comment?

hey pat, you are at

http://www.bruuuce.com/

which is a fan site, not his official site.

It's still tacky, just slightly less so.

Ohhh. I see now. Well, I guess that's a little more understandable. But you would have agreed with me if it was his official site, right?

I would agree it is tacky, but I didn't see it - where on the site? It could be staring me in the face, but I didn't notice it.
